Hi wondergal, share with you what I know ok. The chinese restaurant (think its called Riverview or something like that) where many couples hold their wedding dinner : food is not bad. Place is really cramped if you have more than 25 tables. whereas service wise I will rate it as averagely normal becos its still a chinese restaurant in comparison, and should not compare to hotel ballroom. The manager himself is a self proclaimed music conductor and he does what most others dont, the first dish serving is orchestrated by him! Yes, he literally conducts the musical movement! Quite wierd at first but when I think back, it was very unique. Do check out their prawns, very fresh and sweet (at least when I attended my girl friend's wedding)
I have been to the lobby area, its ok, worthy of a 2 to 3 star hotel. staff service, average.
Not been to the ballroom before so no comments on that.
Location wise I think its ok bcos you can park in Funan Mall also. quite convenient.

Hi Rumourx, 10q for your advice. Am actually going for the ballroom instead the restaurant. I loved the lobby seriously. However its quite wasted as their ballrm is actually a flr below their lobby. So my guests will not get the chance to see the 'grand new' lobby. sad sad.. anyway..
oh.. so u meant the dinner banquet is actually from restaurant?
hi wondergal, yeah its sad cos its one floor down. the lobby is actually not bad for a hotel of its status. one level down is also a KTV lounge, the other time I was there alot of those hostess walking and shouting amongst themselves.
Yes some couples like my girl friend book the restaurant package and get the hotel suite from excelsior too.
If you guest cant see the nice lobby, you might want to think again lor cos its your money afterall leh

exelsior have these lounges you know! yeah lor the hostess walking in and out with old & young man, I also felt funny! fainted...
Peninsula dont think they have lor looks cleaner but i feel excelsior is nice looking. sigh..not perfect hor!

ermm.. i think the lounge u refering is actually @ Excelsoir side. I went over to Peninsula Excelsior, didnt see the lounge u mentioned. I went over to Eccelsoir (which is beside) and yes, saw the lounge u refering, which the restaurant is just opp the lounge. Heng ah, that place is out my list. Hehe..
Anyway, I liked Peninsula Excelsior, esp the ballroom. Managed to get quotes from them as well. The co-ordinator Lawerence quite friendly, but then really hope he is more 'friendly' on the perks as well. Haha..
btw, ur AD over already mah? otherwise, where's ur banquet be held @?
hi wondergal, nice to know you found a good coordinator. am happy for you :) you are the bride, and should lay your reasonable demands to start with or else down the line, if you find imperfections, it may be hard to turn them around, especially when you have already made the payment to them haha...:) then will be stuck! (fainted)
Myself, not yet la! long time to go I guess but hav been in a couple of weddings to know a little here and there, at least I can look out for matters which I did not think much of in the past, then when it comes to my turn i will not be put in a corner!
yeah, the club is Shanghai something and not a nice place to be around when you have a wedding (better not let my girl friend knows about it! else she will jump! haha..)
