Ocean City Restaurant (Apollo Centre) - Fast Food Style Servings???

Just last weekend my old colleagues and I went for a wedding dinner at Ocean City Restaurant @ Apollo Centre. As common as all chinese restaurants, food is always unquestionable (i.e good) bcos these guys depends on it. Service wise is worth mentioning because my colleagues and I have never seen a restaurant that keeps the main dishes just after they scooped out onto smaller bowls for you! What was worst is the male waiter (prob 40+ years slim) never asked us if we wanted to have some more. I am sure we have all been to many wedding dinners and quite honestly, even Boon Lay Raja Restaurant, which is well known for holding 2 banquets at one go, has much better organisation and service than Ocean City! The MC from the restaurant is a mainland chinese lady which is perfectly fine but her voices was so screechy and loud against the microphone while the speakers they installed there clearly echoed her enthusiasm. It was all very too much for our ears when this lady MC yelled to the top of her voice when the entire family went up to the stage to toast everyone. it was so unbearably to hear a high pitch screeching sound! For God's sake this was a wedding occasion, and not 7th month! The impression we all get was the restaurant was rushing and rushing every dish out, and to the point that it met their 10pm closure time. The last 30 to 40 minutes, the waiters were all speeding up serving the dishes and the moment no one picks up an extra, they just casually take the big dish servings away and 2 mins later comes back with the next one. This is so unacceptable even for a hawker centre! Thing is, this is a wedding dinner, not a BBQ. how can they allow such a thing to happen so quickly. We all noticed that by the time the desert was served, the newly weds still has 5 to 6 more tables to patronise and snap group photographs with. The customers have not finish their meals and celebrations and Ocean City just cant wait to pull down the shutter. This is such a horrible place to have a wedding and unless you dont mind having a Fast Food-style wedding dinner; being treated like a fast food customer, with fast food attitude, and showed the door the fast food way, I will in my opinion NOT even consider this horrible place for a simple family meal, let alone my own wedding!!
