Holiday Inn Atrium (Former Concorde Hotel) - 6-STAR Wedding Banquet Service - Simply Beats The BIG Boys To The Trousers!!
My Kalyedoscope Photographers team occasionally photograph newly weds whose banquets are held at Holiday Inn Atrium (formerly known as Concorde Hotel), so we are very comfortable and look forward to meet the boys brigade who manages the wedding banquet (and I am sure weddings are not the only events they are in contacts with). Of distinguish mention is the Banquet Manager, Jeffrey; in his slim lean and active nature; sporting a short crop hairdo due to Nature's calling, there isn't anyone whose smiles and warmth can overtake! Jeffrey is one very uniquely excellent banquet manager because his personal believe in Outstanding Service had won the hearts of my team mates and myself through and through and this actually goes back 3 years. As photographers, we are usually 2nd classed by the hotel staffs, especially the banquet managers because to them, the photographers can be a nuisance to how fast their food dishes churn out; the more time we take to photograph the wedding event, the later their staff finishes and punch card for home. Or, often, the hotel mongers are too busy and bogged down with their chores and duties, their practical focus of service only highlights the newly weds and to a large degree, their guests at the wedding. One can say we photographers are on 3 day social VISA pass status whose presence are non-existence in their eyes, unless the banquet in-charges likes to know how long more we need to take to finish the group photos and such. Jeffrey and his Outstanding service managers are unlike that. They simple endorse and love treating customers with the best possible treatment you can humanly get. When I mentioned 'Customers' they, in fact, have included the working crew of the newly weds: the photographers and videgraphers! We suddenly found ourselves as important as the banquet guests themselves and no truer word can describe that! It was the first time we photograph a wedding banquet there at, then called, Concorde Hotel back in 2oo3. Marcus and myself found the banquet staffs, especially the managers, very pleasant and warmth. As usual, after the dinner commenced and the newly weds awaiting for a 2nd march-in after a quick change of wadrobe. What surprised us was the banquet manager Jeffrey came running to inform that the bride and groom were ready for their 2nd wedding march, and graciously invited us to get ready by escorting us to the banquet entrance, and when Marcus and I reach there, Jeffrey warmly told us to let me check if the newly weds are ready so that he can signal us to ready ourselves too! Marcus and I looked at each other, jaws wide opened and shook in disbelieve at the level of excellent service Jeffrey shown us! He actually went looking for us in order to invite us to get ready for the newly wed and even went further to co-ordinate with us, to get the 2nd marching in opening shot and so forth. Honestly, there was NEVER a hotel, 5-star even, that had show us the level of excellent service this Banquet Manager has provided. Those hotels at Cityhall area with 'S...' & 'R..', the big names at Marina Boulevard, or, even those with Capitial 'H' residing at Orchard Road does HAS YET to aquaint themselves with the fact and reality that EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS USED AT ALL LEVELS, NOT JUST FOR PAYING CUSTOMERS. It takes abled staffs with the same mentality & objectives as their top management in order for this to work and seriously training and education provision and enforcement is the only way these 'empty' BIG Boys can hope to achieve, cos WATCH OUT your competitors are creeping up on you. If you dont take care of your customers, your competitors will! Hurrah to Jeffrey and his staff of Holiday Inn Atrium. Excellent work and do keep up the SUPER SERVICE ATTITUDE!! You have my team's TEN thumbs up mate!!

No sure about the service
No sure about the service there, but went there a week back as part of the groom's pickup party and the lifts were ridiculous. They were spacious but the doors close after about 15 sec and pressing the open button doesn't help. Not to mention the other buttons on the lift seems cranky as well. We ended up going up and down in the lifts for 15 mins cos the lift refused to stop on our floor and missed the auspicious time. It was totally ridiculous. Apparently, it was a problem with all 4 lifts. We actually had to hold the lift doors open with our hands for the bride to get into the lift cos the doors would auto-close. Not to mention that in the short time we were there, some people got trapped in the lift cos of a breakdown. I would say the service staff were quite helpful but they seriously need to upgrade the lifts.
Cant help reading this
Cant help reading this article. I do agree that the lifts at Holiday Inn Atrium needs some upgrading. I believe you may be referring to the glass bubble lifts where you can see the outside? The car park lifts seems alright, though they tend to be a tad slow sometimes. Yeah, their staff service is sometimes comparable or better than those 5 star big guns like Swissotel Westin, especially those snobbishly high nosed counter stewardess at Raffles The Plaza. High class hotels does come with a high nose attitude sometime, by then again, if they dont 'act' high class and snobbish, where would the snobs go to?
yes i do agree with rumourx
yes i do agree with rumourx that holiday inn atrium seriously needs some upgrading, be it interior or exterior. it looks so run-down. i've attended a wedding dinner over there last year but i must say that it was abit too crampy and i didnt really like the layout of the ballroom. nevertheless, food was alright and service was not bad.
