Are you all holding a wedding reception after the wedding itself AND a party in the evening or a banquest? I love the evening party but some people prefer a daytime thing..

In our place, it is customary to have the party right after the wedding ceremony. If changes will be done to make it an evening party which is a few hours after the wedding, chances are that there will be less people who can join the reception/party.

The wedding banquet is more like a continuation of the wedding where kids can also enjoy themselves, whereas in the evening party there is less of that wedding ambiance and people get more comfortable, just hanging out and celebrating.

Actually, I think the trend nowadays is to split the wedding and the banquet over 2 days or 2 weekends so that the bride and groom aren't as tired. Think it's especially true if you're intending to handle all the details yourself.

I like the idea of splitting the wedding and the banquet, but that wouldn't work for my family. Quite a few people will be coming in from other countries, and this would inconvenience them greatly. We're planning on having the banquet/reception directly after the ceremony (at the same site). -Karenlyn
