Anyone has any ideas for ROM locations and how to go about it? Neither hubby nor me are christians so church is out. Preferably somewhere nice but not too complex to plan.
Hi, you might want to try Sentosa Dolphin Beach where all the pubs are, or Legends at Fort Canning, if you like to have a very romantic session. we have shot at both venues before, and I have to say Sentosa beach ROM is a great place to be!
However, if food is of the main concern, rather than venue outlook, you might want to try Yum Cha @ Chinatown or The House Of Hunan By Tung Lok Group at Noven Square. The Shop Manager there Miss Chua (if I remember correctly) has got one of the best service any chinese restaurant I have come across. of great mention is the Bei Jing place just one level down. The food smells great and there's a private room for your ROM.
Yeah, you try that. Yum Cha Restaurant contact: 63721717. The Address is: 20 Trengganu Street (opp Temple Stree), #02-01 (Chinatown), Singapore 058479. The smaller function room which can hold up to 2 tables has nicer decor, while the bigger one is much less decorated in the name of socialising and food! Check it out. Hope it turns out well for you!

Hi msac1606,
First of all, think u muz set what's ur budget, amt of ple and theme u have in mind? Whether if the venue (hotel, resort or restaurant), $ or deco of the place impt? coz different places offer different $.. @ times, some places offer cheap $, but then extra deco and ROM setup excluded, and there's where there's hidden cost @ times too.
When's ur ROM btw? Maybe you would like to list dwn a few of shortlisted places and start calling or emailing them for quotes? If budget is contrains, ask if they are able to work within ur budget. Hope it helps. :)
Hi I need to find a place to eat. I will be holding my rom in the rom office so now need to find place to eat. As I have muslim frds so wondering anyone can give a suggestion on chinese restuarant with halal food.
Hi ali50n, try these place:
a. Eden Seafood. 257 Changi Road (Bedok/Still Road) area
b. Sakura Cuisine
c. Riverside Indonesia Restaurant (Not the best choice)
Hope it helps.
there's a muslim restaurant just opposite Joo Chia Complex at Joo Chiat Road. Food is malay styled but if your guest does have appetite for it, it may help cos its actually quite cost effective and to a certain extent, friendly to the stomach.
I went to Yum Cha to attend my friend's solemnisation a few months back. The food there is really not bad. There are better tim sum restaurants around but I was really happy to see my friends and I enjoying good variety, above average service (in fact compared to alot more other chinese restaurants like Ocean City - Apollo or River City - Excelsior , they are very good!)
The event was around 35pax and everyone thought that it was a good place with good service. I feel overall this Yum Cha chinese restuarant deserves a thumbs up!! A+++
Think Changi Village Hotel is also gaining popularity as a relatively cheap place for ROM. Especially the rooftop deck on the 8th floor, has a nice view all the way to the sea. Only downside is that if it rains, all wasted. This year's package only $48 per pax, however, 2008 package increase to $58 and up.
If you're looking for a very simple venue, for max 120 pax, do consider the roof top terrace:

We are also able to provide wedding wines, from $15/bottle upwards.
