Age Requirements

Above 21
  • NRIC and Birth Certificate of Couple
  • NRIC/Passport of 2 witnesses over 21
  • Decree Nisi Absolute for divorce/Death Certificate of deceased spouse, if applicable
Between 18 and 21
  • NRIC and Birth Certificate of Couple
  • NRIC/Passport of parents/legal guardians
  • NRIC/Passport of 2 witnesses over 21
  • Decree Nisi Absolute for divorce/Death Certificate of deceased spouse, if applicable

Other Nationality

One foreign spouse
  • Approval to marry from Controller of Work Permits, Ministry of Manpower
  • Check eligibility to stay after marriage with Immigration and Checkpoints Authority
Both foreigners
  • At least one party must have stayed in Singapore for a minimum of 15 days before being eligible to file for marriage.

Filing for Notice of Marriage

All Filing for Notice of Marriage is to be done online (website included below). After which, solemnization will take place at the specified date and venue. Notices of Marriage must be filed at least 21 days before the date of solemnization but not more 3 months prior to that date. Relevant documents to be brought are listed above. Only original/certified true copies of the above documents will be accepted. For solemnizations outside the Registry of Marriages, make sure you bring along the e-filing acknowledgement printout and the signed consent c/w of your Licensed Solemnizer.
